What kind of paint is used on Kakadu products?

The difference between a high-grade and a low-grade paint is the proportion of its solids (the actual pigment) to its liquid (the binding medium). The higher the proportion of solids to liquid, the more pigment the paint has-and the longer it will retain its vibrancy. At Kakadu, we special-mix our own paints to ensure that they contain a high ratio of pigment to binder. This means our colors stay bright and true for a very long time, without becoming faded or chalky-looking.

Wooden carpets….are you kidding? Can I walk on them?

You bet! Don't let their delicate beauty belie their toughness and durability-our floor coverings are perfectly suited for your highest foot-traffic areas, even kitchens or hallways.

Kakadu wooden carpets can be easily cleaned using a damp, soapy cloth. And they can be restored every few years using furniture wax.
If placed in damp places such as bathrooms, they should be dried and aired once a week by being rolled up and stood on end for 1-2 hours. If liquid is spilled on them, dry them as soon as possible by patting with a soft, clean cloth. To prevent scratching, avoid placing heavy furniture and chairs on carpets.

What culture or cultures are the inspiration for Kakadu products and motifs?

The ideas for our products and artwork cannot be traced to any specific culture, location, or style; rather, they arise from the creative minds of our artists. As such, each design incorporates not only the artist's unique personality and talent, but also the various cultural and stylistic influences that have shaped him or her.

I want my Kakadu product to last…how do I take care of it?
